Africa

The Continent

Africa is massive, like way bigger than it appears on world maps. With that being said, the continent has a bunch of different environments that influenced its history. Despite what movies may have taught us, Africa is not just a massive set of sand dunes repeating over and over again, and is instead a complex array of jungles, mountains, savannas, and of course, deserts. Though African history is often characterized as a story of colonization, there are so many examples of powerful African kingdoms pre-colonial era that is often overlooked. From the powerful Egyptians to the rich Mali, Africa has a wealth of history, most of which is stored in the British museum. However, the lack of a unified writing system in some areas means that sources are very hard to find, and what sources we do have sometimes come from foreigners with their own biases.
