The Continent

North America – a massive, cold, and diverse continent. Through the frigid plains of Canada, to the fields of Kansas, geography has played a massive role in the development of the people within it. Though its history is long and fascinating, North American history is so often told as a story of the United States and Canada. However, while the histories of both countries are interesting and crucial to understanding the modern world, there are thousands of years of history pre-Columbus that is fascinating and critical to developing a complete global understanding. While there is a significant lack of sources from that time period, we can still use what we have to piece together an amazing story of indigenous peoples who’s way of life defined the thousands of years before 1492. Through these articles I hope to portray the stories of both sides of 1492, and show the complete history of the continent from start to finish
